Almende’s research projects often result in the creation of valuable and innovative technologies which can benefit individuals and organizations alike. When Almende develops a software product that is of special commercial interest, it founds or acquires a ‘spin-off company’, to bring these technologies into practice.

Today, Almende invests in six such subsidiary companies which focus on implementing and improving Almende’s software products on the Dutch and international market. ASK CS, DEAL Services and Sense OS are direct spin-offs from research projects. Luna.nl, Regas and Rotterdam CS are existing companies which Almende has invested in both financially and technologically.

	Sense Observation Systems is Almende’s youngest spin-off, which develops practical applications with and for Wireless Sensor Networks

All these companies are in a unique position to benefit from Almende’s research, while Almende uses their infrastructure as a practical and professional testing ground. Thus, a maximum synergy between Almende and the spin-offs is achieved.
