Researchers at Almende range from senior researchers to PhD researchers to (under)graduate interns. Almende operates under the direction of Hans Abbink and Peet van Tooren. A permanent staff provides research administration, computational and library resources, and publications and development support.

Information theory, linguistics and artificial intelligence (genetic algorithms, neural networks, natural language) are just some of the fields that Peet van Tooren masters. Being the driving force in Almende's Research & Development programmes, Peet is the first to translate academic concepts to the benefit and the language of partners and customers.
